Torino Ranch is located within the Spring Mountain National Recreation Area in proximity to Las Vegas, Nevada. This sprawling paradise is nestled in the surrounding Toiyabe National Forest and offers a magnificent private haven for our campers with magical views, fresh air and temperatures which are cooler than Las Vegas year round. The property features two spring fed lakes which provide campers the opportunity to swim in pure mountain water and canoe against the backdrop of sheltering trees and mountain vistas. The Torino Ranch is the only land holding of its type and elevation within the forest system, providing a picture perfect blend of forest, lake and glen.
Charming, country accommodations include a village of log cabins equipped with bunk beds that each sleep ten campers and counselors. An on-site laundry facility and clean modern bathrooms with warm showers and electricity make the stay comfortable.
Healthy, balanced meals and nutritious snacks are prepared in our fully equipped lodge kitchen and served in the fresh air under a fragrant trellis. The Torino Foundation’s mission includes advancing our camper’s health by promoting healthy eating habits through the offering of high quality, nutritious foods which are part of a comprehensive nutrition program.
The Ranch has a large group activity structure which hosts arts and crafts, drama, dance lessons, talent shows and other activities that are limited only by our camper’s and counselor’s imaginations.
Recreational activities offered at the Ranch include; rock climbing, swimming, canoeing, archery, hiking, the ever popular gaga pit and an assortment of games on our lush grass game field. Horticultural and conservation education programs have the perfect venue in our greenhouse, organic vegetable gardens, and among the hundreds of fruit trees and flowering plants that grace the Ranch. The Torino Foundation mission includes operating camps in an ecological manner with emphasis on recycling and conservation. Combined with the inspiring beauty of the Ranch, the environment raises children’s appreciation of nature and ecology.
Safety is always practiced and promoted through the use of veteran safety personnel, onsite communication systems and interface between local police, fire crews, and patrolling Forest Service Rangers. Torino Foundation camps are coordinated by our full time on-site camp director, ranch managers, and ranch maintenance crew.
The Torino Ranch team works with various state and county agencies and is held to a standard for public kitchens and pools and has a state certified public water system. Torino Foundation camps are staffed by certified waterfront lifeguards, kitchen staff, and veteran safety and utility staff who strive for regulatory compliance in all areas.
